This is a (partial) example of an aorist-built Systems Dynamics Process Simulation. The underlying business process being simulated - in this case the I.T. Development Process - is shown below. It is shown firstly at summary level, and then in more detail at the phase level. The phase-level detail repeats for each phase in the process. Hover and click to see larger versions of the diagrams.
The core elements of the Simulation interface are shown below. These may be helpful if you want to interact with this Simulation and explore it further.
A possible first step in interacting with the Simulation is to run it to get a baseline. Then try reducing the resourcing in a phase (perhaps Development & Configuration?) by, say, 25%, and running it again to get a feel for how the Simulation works and performance is reported. After that, feel free to change anything as you try and improve process performance ... you can't break it! And just a quick reminder that the Performance Graphs in each Phase are tabbed. As you navigate each tab, you will see the performance of each step (or activity) within the phase (see the second diagram, above).
Note that whilst the Simulation model addresses all 10 process phases, the data is simplified and access to the Simulation from the link below limits your ability to interact with the Simulation to just the phases from 'Design & Approval' to 'Production & Warranty. This is to help aid understanding, and provide improved performance across a wider range of computers, as some of the simulation processing is relatively intense.
Please also note that the AI / ML facility to 'auto-optimise' the performance of the simulation is unfortunately unavailable via the browser-based version of the Simulation. If you wish to see this in operation, simply contact us.
Finally, the simulation is hosted on the Isee Exchange, a facility dedicated to the exploration and application of Systems Dynamics Simulation. Please remember to bookmark our site, so you can easily return if you wish. aorist consultants can build realistic Systems Dynamics Process Simulations for you, and / or train, support and coach your team in building them.
